Some Frequently Asked Questions (our "FAQ")

1) What is Skeleton Crew Theater?

Jack Pulpit, one of the many characters seen at Skeleton Crew TheaterSkeleton Crew Theater (SCT) is a theatrical attraction with a Halloween twist. Think of it as a treasure/scavenger hunt you'll solve in one evening.

2) Theatrical? Like a play?

Yes. There is an original plot, characters, scenes, and soundtrack. Everything you will see has been created by the SCT production team. This includes the sets, score, costumes, script, effects, and sounds... Nothing is store bought.

3) Where is it held?

SCT is held this year at Camp Kee-Wanee in Greenfield, Mass. A portion of the proceeds from this year's show will benefit the programs at the camp.

4) What time does SCT start, and how long does it take?

SCT hosts ongoing shows Friday and Saturday nights in October. Regular shows start at dark, with the last show beginning at 9:00 PM. Advance reservation shows begin at dark on Sunday nights. Shows vary from 45 to 65 minutes in length.

5) What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything with me?

This is an outdoor show and you will be walking through the woods at night so dress warmly and wear hiking boots or sneakers. You may bring a flashlight, if you'ld like.

6) Aside from the main attraction, what else is happening?

Student Volunteers from Turners Falls High School will be on hand to serve hot and cold refreshments - cider, soda and juices, hot coffeee, and snacks.

7) I like being scared. Is SCT scary?

Jack Pulpit, one of the many characters seen at Skeleton Crew TheaterSCT is not "scary" or "gory", like most haunted hayrides. We are a 'spooky', Halloween themed, interactive adventure suitable for most ages. Our show is more like 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' and not at all like 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. If we were a movie, we would have a PG rating. Some children that have difficulty distinguishing between reality and fantasy may become scared - but they will be able to move and watch from the back and away from the action if the scenes become too much for them.

If you are looking for a scary experience - we recommend Gaines Farm, a little up the road in Guilford VT.

8) What's the interactive part like?

SCT's interaction is very tasteful, simple, and doesn't require all in a group to participate. You can hang in the back or jump in for fun. But the more you participate, the more fun you'll have.

9) Can I come in costume?

Absolutely. Just make sure your costume doesn't obscure your vision or ability to walk.

10) What is the cost of admission?

$10 regular admission. $7 for children under 12. Reserved tickets available upon request. To reserve tickets, please call 413-475-0913. Please Note: Reservations close on Thursday at 8pm for that weekend's shows. Reservations for Hallowe'en Weekend close the last Wednesday before Hallowe'en, at 6 PM.
