2017 BARN FIRE
In November 2017, a barn containing the majority of SCT's handmade puppets, props, and sets caught fire. A large amount of our inventory was damaged, some were even completely destroyed. The crew was left shocked and devastated. Years of artwork that represented the creativity, resourcefulness, and sheer hard work of so many SCT crew members was gone in minutes.
In September 2018, we decided to run a fundraiser for materials to rebuild what we lost, including some of our most notable characters, and impressionable sets. With the generous help of many of our fans, and the Gill/Turners Falls community, the fundraiser was a success. In a year's time, we were able to rebuild much of what we had lost. Though the fire was difficult, even devastating for SCT, it allowed us to see and feel how truly supportive our community is. We could have never recuperated so fast without the love we were shown. Though our 2018 show was invite-only, the 2019 show will be our first public show in a few years, and we dedicate it to everyone that donated money, time, and opportunity to our cause. You have all made it possible for us to continue our work, and keep making our art.
